The third edition of the Royal Air Maroc league organized by Qatar Cycling Federation, Qatar Chain Reaction with support of Qatar Cyclists took place in Lusail. It was rainy and thundery Friday morning in Qatar, luckily the clouds avoided the Lusail roads and riders enjoyed perfect racing weather. Ahmed Elbourdainy (Qatar national senior team) used his power and experience to win the Men A category time trial. He set the best time in a two lap course of 23 km around Lusail roads, beating Spain’s Aday Alvarez (Carbon Wheels Racing) by 30 seconds. Australian Glen Bull (Giant Ride Bike Store) completed the podium, 39 second down on the winning time. Abdullah Afif and Abdulrahman Salem (both Qatar national senior team) were fourth and fifth respectively.
In the Men B category Englishman Oliver Tindall (Rasen Velostar) took the honors in front of local Fawaz Al Hichan (Rasen Velostar) and Belgian Davy Muller (Carbon Wheels Racing). The Men C race was won by Qatari Ahmed Al Subaey (Losail), second was Oli Anson and third John Hancock (Rasen Velostar).
Isora Sosa Caballero (Carbon Wheels Racing) best her team mate Julie Melville in Women A category. The B category was won by Fiona Carter ahead of Emily Kelly (Carbon Wheels Racing) and Carla Coetzee.
The next race in the Royal Air Maroc Cycling League is scheduled for 6th of January.
